Development of a risk assessment tool to break the spiral of domestic violence
The multidisciplinary approach of domestic violence is high on the political agenda. In the National Safety Plan this approach is a priority. It should nog be surprising that domestic violence gets so much attention, because it is a serious problem. The gravity of domestic violence results from the phenomenon's complexity and dynamics. Victims may need legal and police support as well as psychological, social and medical support.
The goal of this research is to develop an electronic risk assessment tool of domestic violence for police, justice and aid services. The starting point with this is formed by the principles of the usere-centred design; professionals are closely involved in the development of the electronic too, which has to be user-friendly, written in plain language and applicable for users. To achieve this goal our research provides a systematic literature review, focus groups, development and testing of the risk assessment tool.
